Congressman Charlie Crist released the following statement after funding estimates for President Biden's American Rescue Plan were published by the Congressional Research Service. The bill would provide an estimated $187,603,000 to Pinellas County Schools.

"This funding is a lifesaver for Pinellas County Schools, teachers, and students, who have been forced to adapt to COVID-19 without adequate state funding or sufficient federal guidance since this crisis began. This ground-breaking amount - over $187,000,000 - would be a true investment so our schools can open safely and help students make up for lost time," said Crist.

"President Biden made a promise to support our teachers, students, and parents through this crisis. This shows that he intends to keep that promise. Congress should act to pass the American Rescue Plan as soon as possible."
