U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright (PA-08) today announced that four first responder agencies will be awarded a total of $15,866.66 through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant -- COVID-19 Supplemental Program Round 2 (AFG-S 2) to be used for personal protective equipment (PPE) and essential supplies.

"Our fire companies rely on federal funding to help them provide the best emergency response service they can," said Rep. Cartwright, a member of the House Appropriations Committee. "The Assistance to Firefighters Grant continues to be a critical resource to firefighters and communities in Northeastern Pennsylvania and we should continue investing in equipment that aids the incredible work they do."

AFG-S 2 provides funds for the purchase of PPE and related supplies for our nation's first responders during the COVID-19 response. FEMA awards round 2 funding for PPE and other supplies to support first responders in response to COVID-19.
