Location: Washington, DC

Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) joined Chairman of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures Mike Thompson (CA-05), House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (MA-01), and the entire Democratic membership of the Committee in introducing the GREEN Act. This bill would extend and expand current federal tax provisions that have been proven successful in the deployment of clean energy technologies. It would also create new tax incentives for critical and emerging technologies such as energy storage and offshore wind that will spur further innovation and investment in green energy and efficiency.

"We can't wait to address climate change, we have to act now. That's why I am joining Chairman Thompson and fellow Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee in introducing these important green energy tax incentives. The GREEN Act will make it possible for more Americans to afford electric vehicles and lower their home energy costs. It will incentivize domestic manufacturing and clean energy jobs -- including Connecticut's fuel cell industry," said Larson. "Bold policies like the GREEN Act are what is needed to solve the climate crisis, and I am excited to work with the Biden Administration to advance these policies."
