Issues: Veterans

Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) released the following statement on Veterans Day:

"Today we honor all those who have served and sacrificed to protect our freedoms. My father was a Navy veteran. From an early age, he instilled in me a reverence for our servicemembers and veterans, and taught me to always honor the brave men and women who fought to defend our freedoms," said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.

"I bring this respect for our veterans with me every day to Washington, and work to serve those who served us. Thank you to all of our Hudson Valley veterans and our veteran families for their service to our great nation."

Representative Maloney's office has helped over 2,000 veterans, servicemembers and military families and recovered over $12 million in veterans' benefits since taking office in 2013. He has helped obtain over 400 medals and awards for veterans, including recently to Korean War Veteran Joseph Reynolds of Fishkill, New York.

Representative Maloney's office has talented caseworkers and veterans' advocates who can help resolve issues with the federal government, including claims for educational, disability, retirement, medical, burial, spousal and dependents' benefits and correction of military records and medals. New York servicemembers, veterans and military families with questions about VA benefits, benefit applications, or case mitigation with the VA are urged to contact Rep. Maloney's Newburgh office by calling 845-561-1259 or by visiting seanmaloney.house.gov.
