Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) today praised the inclusion of the Save Our Stages Act in the bipartisan-bicameral COVID-19 relief and omnibus package:

"I am proud my bipartisan Save Our Stages Act is included in the latest COVID-19 relief bill. Live music venues were among the first to close and will be the last to reopen due to forced government closures and public health guidance that continues to be near impossible to overcome. To ensure these cultural staples will continue in our communities for generations to come, it was an honor and a privilege to work alongside Texas live venue owners, managers and artists since the outset of this pandemic- their tireless efforts were pivotal at every step. This bill will finally deliver a much needed lifeline as we move forward together -- it is tremendous news for thousands of hardworking men and women across our nation who have been holding onto the hope that Congress would act," said Congressman Williams.

"In an era of partisan gridlock and deep frustrations within the system, Congressman Williams reached across party lines, truly SAVED our stages, theatres and museums, by building a bi-partisan coalition to truly represent the American people," said Blayne Tucker, Texas Precinct Captain for the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA).

"The unwavering support and original sponsorship of the Save Our Stages bill by Congressman Roger Williams has thrown our industry a critical lifeline. When we needed it most, he and the Texas delegation led the charge of protecting the live music community," said Edwin Cabaniss, Co- Founder & Chairman of the Music Venue Alliance of Texas.

Congressman Williams previously called for inclusion of the bill in the COVID-19 relief and omnibus package.
