As a former wind energy engineer who has long championed investments in STEM, Congressman Jerry McNerney has introduced a resolution in support of National Engineers Week (February 21st -- February 27th). H. Res. 164 supports the goals and ideals of National Engineers Week to increase understanding of, and interest in, engineering and technology careers. It recognizes that engineering is a critical component of STEM and that we should motivate youth to pursue engineering careers in order to provide a vigorous, diverse, and competitive engineering workforce.

"Investing in and uplifting our STEM workforce is vital to our nation's future," said Congressman McNerney. "By recognizing the importance of our engineering and technology professionals, we encourage the next generation to explore the endless possibilities these career paths have to offer."

National Engineers Week focuses on celebrating how engineers make a difference in our world, increasing public dialogue about the need for more engineers, and bringing engineering to life for children, educators, and parents.
