Congressman Steven Horsford Introduces Unemployed Worker Lifeline Act to Provide $400/Week Federal Supplemental Unemployment Compensation

Press Release

Today, Congressman Steven Horsford introduced the Unemployed Worker Lifeline Act. This legislation would increase the federal supplemental unemployment insurance payment from $300 to $400 for weeks after March 14 and extend the $400 weekly supplemental payment to be paid on top of all types of unemployment insurance payments through October 3, 2021.

"Nevada has been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the second-highest unemployment rate in the country. Our working people need more help to survive this pandemic and rebuild," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "I'm proud to introduce the Unemployed Worker Lifeline Act to provide this critical aid to workers in Nevada and across the country as we continue to work towards recovery. It's long past time for Congress to step up and make sure working families have the support they need -- and this bill will do just that."
