Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) released the following statement on the historic Inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

"Today is a historic moment for our nation as we celebrate the Inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States and Vice President Kamala Harris.

"At this moment in history, our nation needs unique leadership to bring us together and move us forward. The Biden-Harris Administration, which reflects the diversity of our country, will work to put us on the path to recovery, healing, and progress that will make life better for all Americans.

"I look forward to working with President Biden and Vice President Harris to end the coronavirus pandemic, lower health care costs, save moms' lives, address the climate crisis, and root out corruption. There's a long road ahead, but I'm ready to get to work--and I know they are too."
