Congressman Dan Kildee on the Confirmation of Jennifer Granholm as Secretary of Energy

Statement

Date: Feb. 25, 2021

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement today after Jennifer Granholm was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as Secretary of Energy:
I congratulate Secretary Granholm on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate. Under her leadership as governor, Michigan led the nation in new green energy investments, including hybrid electric vehicles, advanced battery technologies, and wind turbines. Her bold vision helped to create thousands of good-paying renewable energy jobs across Michigan. Now, as Energy Secretary, I know she will bring this same transformative leadership to the Department of Energy.

I look forward to working with Secretary Granholm to continue supporting the American automotive industry by investing in electric vehicles, as well as combating climate change to protect our planet and the Great Lakes.
