Statement by Congressman Kildee on the Impeachment Vote in Senate

Statement

Date: Feb. 13, 2021
Location: Flint, MI

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement today after the U.S. Senate, on a 57-43 vote, found former President Donald J. Trump not guilty of an article of impeachment:
"History will ultimately judge the 43 Senate Republicans who chose loyalty to Donald Trump over the best interest of our country. Their legacy will forever be stained by Donald Trump's incitement of violence that killed five people, including members of law enforcement. While the former president was not convicted today, I am confident that he, and his Republican enablers, will be held accountable by the American people."
