Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet issued the statement below following the Senate vote to confirm Janet Yellen as Treasury Secretary:
"Janet Yellen is exceptionally well-qualified to serve as Secretary of the Treasury. Her leadership will be essential to help bridge our country out of the pandemic into a growing economy that works for everyone. Secretary Yellen's overwhelming, bipartisan confirmation is an affirmation of her ability to lead in this difficult moment and a positive sign for our country as President Biden's administration begins. I'm grateful for her lifetime of service and willingness to serve once again."
The Senate voted to confirm Janet Yellen as the next Treasury Secretary with an 84-15 vote.
