Fortenberry Statement on FDA Approval of Pfizer COVID Vaccine

Congressman Jeff Fortenberry (NE-1) issued the following statement today on FDA approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

"On a call with the FDA and other leaders in Congress today about emergency use authorization of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, the FDA noted that this vaccine meets the gold standard for safety and efficacy, and that "no corners were cut," Fortenberry said.

The FDA will continue to hold public meetings as additional vaccines are considered for approval.

"While this is an important milestone for America, our oversight role in Congress will continue with robust surveillance of vaccine safety and assurance that vaccines are administered fairly," Fortenberry added.
