Sens. Burr, Tillis Introduce Epa Administrator Nominee Michael Regan at Senate Confirmation Hearing

Today, Senators Richard Burr (R-NC) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) introduced Michael Regan, a native North Carolinian and President Biden's nominee to serve as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), before his Senate confirmation hearing. His nomination is being considered by the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

"Secretary Regan's tenure in North Carolina tells us how he will approach our shared desire for clean air and clean water, ensuring we don't unnecessarily limit economic opportunities. Secretary Regan brings notable experience to the position, and I look forward to supporting his nomination."

Background:

Michael Regan has served as Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality since 2017. Prior to this role, Secretary Regan served at the EPA for nine years across a variety of policy positions.

Secretary Regan is a proud North Carolinian, born and raised in Goldsboro, and a graduate of North Carolina A&T University.

Secretary Regan's nomination is supported by more than 20 of the largest agriculture organizations in the country.
