Photo Release: Schneider Visits North Chicago Vaccination Site

Statement

Date: Feb. 16, 2021
Location: North Chicago, IL

Monday, Congressmen Brad Schneider (IL-10) visited the new vaccine distribution site at the Lake County Forest Preserve's Greenbelt Cultural Center in North Chicago. Schneider reviewed vaccine distribution logistics, talked to those receiving the vaccine, and will return to Washington armed with feedback from those running the location.

The site, which opened Monday, will remain open for two months to serve more than 5000 seniors in the area eligible for the vaccine. The site is targeting underserved communities, particularly vulnerable to the pandemic. Waukegan and North Chicago residents 65 and older can make an appointment at Greenbelt by emailing their full name, birthday, email address and phone number to vaccine@northchicagocommunitypartners.org or calling 847-582-1362.

"Many constituents are understandably anxious about when and how they can get their shot. We are seeing slow but steady progress as vaccine numbers continue to rise, though there are gaps, bottlenecks and other challenges that need to be addressed. I am doing everything I can in Washington and at home to speed this process up. The funding in the American Rescue Package will supplement America's vaccine distribution infrastructure and help communities like those across Lake and Cook counties distribute more vaccine faster," said Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10).
