Rep. Taylor Fighting to End Fraud Targeting Veterans

Yesterday, President Donald J. Trump signed bipartisan legislation into law introduced by Congressman Van Taylor (TX-03) alongside his colleague Representative Veronica Escobar (TX-16) titled H.R. 8354, the Servicemembers and Veterans Initiative Act of 2020. This bill will formally establish the Servicemember and Veterans Initiative within the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ). This office will be tasked with protecting the legal interests of Servicemembers, Veterans, and their families and to advise the Attorney General on how to protect these brave men and women from fraud and predatory schemes.

Congressman Van Taylor stated, "This bill takes an important step in protecting our servicemembers targeted by fraud. Our military heroes sacrificed to keep us safe, we must shield them from predatory schemes exploiting their service. I am thankful to Congresswoman Escobar for authoring this legislation and proud to see it implemented."
