Gillibrand Statement On Devastating Job Cuts At Siemens Energy In Olean

Following the announcement that Siemens Energy in Olean, NY plans to halt manufacturing and cut over half of the plant's workforce, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand released the following statement:

"These job cuts are devastating to Cattaraugus county, especially when rural communities have already been hit hard by the economic crisis. As we work towards economic recovery, we have to ensure our rural communities and working families are supported. Creating good paying jobs in manufacturing and renewable energy will be key to preventing the widespread job cuts that have hit Western New York and ensuring highly skilled workers are able to keep their jobs."
