Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) released the following statement after President-elect Biden announced appointments for national security and foreign policy roles:

"President-elect Joe Biden's and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris's national security and foreign policy teams will be led by experts prepared to lead our country and engage the world, not retreat from it. I am incredibly pleased by their selection and look forward to working with all of these extraordinary people to strengthen Americas foreign policy.

Each of Antony Blinken, Alejandro Mayorkas, Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield, Avril Haines, Former Secretary of State John Kerry, and Jake Sullivan represent decades of experience in their field. On Day One, they will be prepared to help our nation crush the coronavirus, combat climate change, and reassert American leadership in international diplomacy."
