1st Vice Chair Steven Horsford Joins Congressional Black Caucus Ceremonial Swearing-In Ceremony

Today, Congressman Steven Horsford joined fellow members of the Congressional Black Caucus to be sworn in to the 117th Congress.

In December of 2020, Congressman Horsford was elected to 1st Vice Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. He additionally serves as Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus 2020 Census Task Force and as CBC Liaison to the Biden/Harris Transition Team. Today's ceremony marks the 50th anniversary of the Congressional Black Caucus in the United States Congress.

"For 50 years, the Congressional Black Caucus has been a powerful voice for equality and justice in America" said Congressman Steven Horsford. "Today, with so many Black Americans facing a disproportionate burden from COVID-19, the work of the Congressional Black Caucus is as timely and important as ever. I look forward to working with other members of the Caucus to crush this virus, restore faith in our nation's democracy, and amplify the voices of Black Americans."

Congressman Horsford is the first African-American to represent Nevada in Congress. As 1st Vice Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, he will help lead the largest CBC membership in history, with a record 57 members.
