Statement on 48th Anniversary of Roe v Wade

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy released the following statement on the 48th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade:

"Forty-eight years ago, Roe vs. Wade struck down pro-life protections in states across the country. Today, we mourn the millions of unborn children who are victims of abortions. Judy and I pray for these unborn children, and promise to continue to work to protect them, support moms and families, and defend the God-given rights of all Americans.

"Being pro-life is about compassion, not control. Pro-lifers have made praiseworthy progress in the last four years and it is increasingly clear the science is on our side. But tough days are ahead. Now more than ever, we must raise our voices in defense of the sanctity of life.

"Be heard, be clear, and be confident. Although we will face many challenges, we have truth, science, and love on our side. We will triumph."
