Dear Friends,

In these difficult times, it is important to find good news that brings us hope, joy, and inspiration. I want to share with you some great victories for veterans, seniors, and families here in CA-36.
Dr. Ruiz's Legislation Signed into Law to Help Veterans, Address Opioid Crisis

The President has signed into law two of my bills:

The Wounded Veterans Recreation Act is a victory for veterans in CA-36 and across the country. Click here to read more about this law that will empower veterans to improve their health and well-being.
The Easy MAT for Opioid Addiction Act will expand access to lifesaving care for patients with opioid use disorder. Read more here.
Dr. Ruiz's Bills Pass House to Support Seniors and Efforts at the Salton Sea

I am also pleased to report that the House passed my bill to strengthen access to Medicare coverage for seniors and my legislation to strengthen federal, state, and local partnerships at the Salton Sea. I'm working to get these bills signed into law.

My bill, the Beneficiary Enrollment Notification and Eligibility Simplification (BENES) Act, passed the House with broad, bipartisan support and will help seniors navigate the Medicare Part B enrollment process and avoid enrollment penalties. Read more here.
The House also passed S. 1811, the Water Resources Development Act of 2020, which prioritizes the northern perimeter lake project at the Salton Sea for the Army Corps of Engineers.
I will continue working to stand up for families, workers, and seniors in CA-36. Please reach out if my office can assist you during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Raul Ruiz, M.D.
Member of Congress
