Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Judicial Branch

Today, Congressman Andy Biggs introduced a resolution to condemn the vicious attacks on Judge Amy Coney Barrett's faith, family, and character.

The resolution calls for the House of Representatives to:

Condemn any attempt to impose an unconstitutional religious test on Judge Amy Coney Barrett or any other individual seeking election or appointment to public office;
Condemn any attempt to disparage Judge Amy Coney Barrett's constitutional right to exercise her religious faith;
Condemn any attack on any member of Judge Amy Coney Barrett's family or her selfless decision to adopt two children from Haiti; and
Support the Senate's constitutional advise and consent process on the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
After Judge Amy Coney Barrett's nomination was announced by President Donald Trump this past weekend, Congressman Biggs stated:

"Since her Senate confirmation process in 2017, Judge Barrett has withstood brutal attacks from the radical left and their allies in the mainstream media. Over the past week, these attacks have intensified as speculation grew about her likely nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. These despicable attacks are rooted in religious bigotry, hatred, and partisanship, and such attacks on Judge Amy Coney Barrett and members of her family should be condemned by all Americans. Amy Coney Barrett should be judged by her intellect and her record, and not by any other standard - especially not an unconstitutional religious standard."
