The Roe Act
Issue
With the confirmation of anti-choice firebrand Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court, President Trump is poised to fulfill his campaign promise and dismantle legal abortion. Whether Roe v. Wade is overturned or gutted, there is little doubt that the landscape of reproductive freedom in the United States is on the precipice of a significant shift, impacting the lives of millions of women. We have an opportunity in Massachusetts to strengthen our own State Laws to prohibit restrictions on access to abortion.

Christine's Plan
I am a co-sponsor and advocate for The Roe Act, which has been supported by a coalition of Reproductive Justice organizations like NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts and the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. The ROE Act (S.1209, H.3320) would reform our state's abortion laws, ensuring that anyone, regardless of age, income, or insurance, can access safe, legal abortion.

Menstrual Equity
Issue
Menstrual products are a necessity -- an essential part of caring for personal health for all menstruating individuals. Non-menstruating people go into a bathroom expecting their basic bodily needs will be met (toilet, toilet paper, soap, water etc.) -- this is not the case for people who are menstruating.

Christine's Plan
I filed H.1959, An Act to Increase Access to Disposable Menstrual Products in Prisons, Homeless Shelters and Public Schools, which would ensure access to free menstrual products to all menstruating individuals in prisons, homeless shelters and public schools from 6th-12th grade. The bill also contains language to ensure the products are truly accessible without stigmatizing the individual seeking them.
