.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today announced the Save Our Stages Act, his bill to provide relief to music and entertainment venues suffering because of the coronavirus pandemic, now has support of the majority of the U.S. Senate.

"Each day these venues' doors remain shut, countless Texans pass another day without a paycheck," said Sen. Cornyn. "All the way from music artists and ticket takers to the valets and bellhops at the hotel down the street, Texans are hurting because of the pandemic's forced closures. Now that this bill has a bipartisan majority of the Senate, it's time to pass it and deliver relief to those Texans."

The Save Our Stages Act would make grants available for independent live music and entertainment venue operators affected by the pandemic, provide six months of financial support to keep venues afloat, and preserve a critical cultural and economic industry employing thousands of Texans.
