Issue Position: Legalize Marijuana

Issue Position

Many of our school systems are struggling to come up with the funding necessary to give our children the best education possible. Many children go hungry because despite not qualifying for reduced or free lunch, their parents aren't able to send their children with a nutritious lunch because they had to decide between paying for a medical bill or heat that week. By legalizing and regulating marijuana in Rhode Island part of the funding can be used to help fund free lunch for all students, and to help provide more revenue to the State each year and in return can be used to help better fund our schools! When in office I will work to make this happen and to make sure that instead of some people driving a couple minutes over the border and paying tax on it in Massachusetts, Rhode Island will get the tax revenue instead!
