STEUBE: Big Tech Needs to Testify About Blatant Election Interference

Press Release

Date: Oct. 15, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

WASHINGTON, D.C.--U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today joined colleagues in sending a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) calling for an emergency hearing on Big Tech's repeated efforts to interfere in the 2020 election.

"Big Tech's censorship efforts have nothing to do with true fact-checking or censoring private information -- it has always been about targeting conservatives and censoring the truth to benefit the Democrat Party and their causes," Steube said. "Twitter and Big Tech will be held accountable for their blatant and un-American interference in our elections."

Recently, the New York post obtained evidence that Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to Ukrainian executives in 2015. Facebook and Twitter censored the news about Hunter Biden's business dealings in Ukraine.

Twitter later suspended the New York Post's Twitter account and removed all mentions of their breaking story about Biden. Twitter also flagged the House Judiciary Committee Republican's website link to the story as "unsafe."

Later, the New York Post published another story alleging Hunter Biden sold access to Communist China in exchange for millions of dollars. When users attempt to share that article, they are unable to do so because the Twitter classified the link as "potentially harmful."

Steube's call for an emergency hearing follows the recent report released about Big Tech and modern conservative censorship.
