Issue Position: Cathy's Record

Issue Position

PROTECTING TENANTS
Assemblywoman Nolan helped make New York City's tenant protections permanent, eliminating the vacancy bonus and limiting rent increases for major capital improvements (MCI) . She secured millions in state funding for NYCHA repairs, including funding for Queensbridge, Ravenswood and Astoria Houses for roof repair, appliance replacement and community center renovations.

IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSIT
Cathy Nolan knows how frustrating it is taking our buses and subways; overcrowded, late and needing repair. She voted in favor of new funds for the MTA, supports its workers, has secured station repairs on the #7, M, and IND lines and is continuing to fight to make stations accessible to all. She is also working to expand bus service.

KEEPING OUR FAMILIES SAFE FROM GUNS
Cathy Nolan voted for common sense gun safety laws that establish extreme risk protection orders, ensure comprehensive background checks and requires safe storage of firearms if a child is present. Cathy has been a longtime advocate for families facing domestic violence. She also knows it's important to work with neighborhood groups to improve police and community relations.

LEADING ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH CARE
Cathy wants her son and all our kids to inherit a clean, healthy planet. That's why she fought to combat climate change by passing the strongest environmental protections in the country to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. She has supported our parks and efforts to clean up Newtown Creek and the Ridgewood Reservoir. Cathy Nolan has worked on behalf of our local hospitals and health clinics. She has secured state funds for our veterans. She has been a leader for women's reproductive health, and has brought health services to families in our district.

CATHY NOLAN LISTENS TO OUR COMMUNITY
A full-time legislator and a strong woman leader in the New York Assembly, Cathy Nolan has never been a member of the "old boys club". Cathy listens with compassion, works with integrity, and leads successfully for us.
