BRINDISI LISTENS TO UPSTATE NEW YORKERS, HOSTS VIRTUAL TOWN HALLS WITH CORTLAND SENIORS & NY-22 LATINO COMMUNITY

Statement

Congressman Anthony Brindisi today held two town hall meetings to hear from Upstate New Yorkers about their priorities. Brindisi partnered with the Cortland County Office of the Aging to speak with Cortland seniors for his first town hall of the day and joined members of the Upstate Latino community for the second. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Brindisi has held more than 10 virtual town halls.

"Especially during this time of national uncertainty, it is important for our elected officials to be transparent, accessible, and accountable," said Brindisi. "Listening to Upstate New Yorkers and working to solve their problems is one of my most important jobs, and I will always work to be a resource for our communities. Whether it's working to lower health care costs, support our Veterans, help our small businesses re-open, or get a bipartisan COVID relief bill passed, I am ready to support our district all the way."

Brindisi joined the Cortland County Office on Aging, NYS Senator James Seward, and NYS Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton to answer questions from Cortland seniors. Earlier this year, Brindisi introduced his bipartisan Senior Security Promise, a five-pillar agenda to improve the lives of older Americans.

During his second town hall of the day, Brindisi heard directly from members of the Latino community about their priorities. He fielded questions about coronavirus relief bill negotiations, his work to lower health care costs, and education reform.
