Issue Position

During my first years in the House, I helped to balance the $8 billion budget deficit that crippled our state, and I did so without raising taxes one penny. I am proud of the balanced budget we established and have maintained. In all that I do, I strive to ensure that work was not in vain. I believe that we must budget responsibly, trim back unnecessary government programs, and reduce spending where ever possible to guarantee the life of our economy today and the security of our state tomorrow.
