Sasse Statement on Twitter's Propaganda Labels

U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Issued the following statement after Twitter began to label Chinese Communist Party and Kremlin propaganda outlets as "state-affiliated media."

"Earlier this year, I urged Twitter to throw the Chinese Communist Party's propagandists off Twitter. Today, Twitter is taking an important step to label Beijing's state-run propaganda accounts. Let's be really clear about what these communist hacks are doing: they keep their own citizens in the dark about the Party's abuses by banning Twitter at home while they use the platform to spread lies around the world."

Background:

In March, Senator Sasse and Congressman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) publicly urged Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to ban CCP accounts that spread propaganda.
