Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a $699,043 grant to East Tennessee State University (ETSU) under the Rural Health Research Center Program:
"Even under normal circumstances, rural health systems face unique challenges and limited resources. These challenges have become even more apparent during the COVID-19 public health crisis. This grant from HHS will allow ETSU to conduct high-quality research on policies to improve rural health care, and it couldn't have come at a better time. I have all confidence that this grant and ETSU's research will be help improve our rural health care system and others."
