Rep. Susie Lee Honors Victims, First Responders on Anniversary of Sept. 11 Terror Attacks

Statement

U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) commemorated the 19th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. She joined southern Nevadans at local events to honor the victims and families, as well as the first responders who laid their lives on the line to protect and save Americans on that day.

Rep. Lee joined local firefighters, police officers, and first responders in Downtown Las Vegas to commemorate the first responders who lost their lives during the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, after which she said:

"Nineteen years ago today, an act of war reached our shores in New York City, when we saw the World Trade Center come down. When thousands were fleeing, it was our firefighters and police officers who were running in to save people, and they saved thousands. In the act, we lost 343 brave first responders. We are here today to honor their memory, to say never again, and to continue to work towards peace in this great country."

Rep. Lee joined Forgotten Not Gone, a local veterans suicide prevention advocacy organization, for a bike ride to raise awareness for suicide prevention. She also visited the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery to lay a wreath honoring those Americans and first responders who lost their lives in the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and all the service members we have lost since then in the Global War on Terrorism.
