Palazzo Releases Statement on USPS Vote

Statement

Date: Aug. 22, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) released the following statement after voting against H.R 8015, the Delivering for America Act. The legislation prohibits the United States Postal Service from implementing or approving any changes to operations or service from those in effect on January 1st, 2020, prior to the pandemic.

"The men and women at the postal service work day in and day out to deliver mail to millions of Americans, which is why the Democrats' attempt to politicize the postal service is a huge slap in the face. I cannot support this bill that would enable ballot harvesting and empower fraudsters come election time. The USPS can benefit from reforms, but this bill only ties their hands at a time when everyone should be adapting to these unprecedented circumstances."
