(Washington, D.C.) -- Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement supporting the Water Resources Development Act of 2020 (H.R. 7575) that prioritizes improvements to our national water infrastructure:

"I am pleased to support this legislation that will no doubt help improve and maintain our ports and harbors, inland waterway navigation, flood and storm protection, and other critical water infrastructure across the nation.

"Southwest Indiana is bordered by two major rivers, the Wabash and Ohio rivers, which are vital to the economic success and continued growth of the region as waterways are the most fuel-efficient and safest way to transport large amounts of cargo. All Americans are impacted by our national water infrastructure, from farmers and ranchers, to coal miners and automobile manufacturers, making the continued upkeep and improvement of our water systems vitally important."
