Issue Position: Protect and Maintain Individual Rights

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2020

Article 2, Section 2 of the Arizona Constitution says, "All political power is inherent in the people, and governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed and are established to protect and maintain individual rights."

I believe it is critical for every legislator to understand this responsibility and evaluate every vote in light of it. You have certain rights and it is my duty as your representative to make sure they are protected. It also follows the motto I have tried to live by throughout my adult life, treat others the way you would want to be treated. You can count on me to protect your Constitutional rights including your First Amendment rights to free speech and free exercise of religion and your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
