Issue Position

Our students need an education system that is well funded. Parents also need a choice. Our three daughters attended public, private and charter schools at different stages of their educational lives, and thrived in each of them.

-I've sponsored and supported dozens of bills enabling parents to choose the best education setting for their children: children with disabilities, children with special needs, low-income families, Native American and foster kids -- and keep parents and families free to direct their child's path.
-I am proud to stand with our Governor to fulfill the 20×2020 promise to our dedicated teachers plus so much more education funding since our economy recovered.
-Schools must support parents' goals and values not undermine them.
-I've supported parents' right to know in advance what sexual education materials their child may be exposed to -- and their right to opt-in.
-I sponsored robust Civics Literacy for HS students -- a seal of accomplishment on their HS diploma -- graduating students should know & understand the foundations of American government.
