Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) announced that the Fiscal Year 2021 Legislative Branch funding bill would include a record $3,975,000 for the Wounded Warrior Program and the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program. A veteran of two Middle East deployments, Rep. Gabbard led the push to increase funding in response to high demand for the Wounded Warrior Fellowship and the creation of the Congressional Gold Star Fellowship. The bill, which was passed by the House Appropriations Committee, now awaits consideration by the full House of Representatives.

"Since 2008, the Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program has offered our nation's heroes opportunities to work in Congress, share their experience with Congressional leaders, and acquire new skills as they transition out of military service," said Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. "The start of the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program offers similar opportunities to family members of someone who has given their life in service to our nation. It's my hope that the full funding of these programs will grant opportunities to military families and encourage a better understanding of the issues that face the military."
