Today, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021, bipartisan legislation that honors America's values, strengthens our national security, and prioritizes Nevada interests.

"I am proud to have voted for a strong defense budget that continues to support our service members and provides our armed forces with the resources they need to continue protecting our country," said Congressman Steven Horsford. "While granting our troops a well-deserved raise of three percent, this legislation also makes key investments in our country's military infrastructure, which will greatly benefit the four installations in Nevada's Fourth District."

"This bill is also a victory for Nevada. I fought tooth and nail for the continued protection of over 840,000 acres of the refuge for future generations to enjoy while ensuring our Air Force has the appropriate tools and technology to carry out their critical mission. The Desert National Wildlife Refuge has been a vital sanctuary for the Nevada state animal, the Bighorn sheep, and other precious wildlife. I am pleased to see the inclusion of Nevada's interests in this legislation and I will continue to uplift the voices of our state."

Congressman Horsford also co-led an amendment that blocks the Trump Administration from resuming explosive nuclear weapons testing that would occur in Nevada's Fourth Congressional District.

This bill includes concrete measures that supports our troops and their families, responds to the coronavirus pandemic, creates a more inclusive military, promotes American values, and ensures oversight and accountability.
