Issue Position

I am a supporter and believer in lawful immigration. If you have ever attended a naturalization ceremony then you know how beautiful these ceremonies are. Illegal immigration is a different story. I believe it is the right and responsibility of New Mexico to secure its own borders if the federal government does not hold up its end of the responsibility. Sanctuary cities should not be allowed to sit idly by and ignore the rule of law. There is a detrimental economic impact that illegal immigration brings, and if New Mexico is to get its fiscal house in order, stopping the flow of illegal immigration has to be a part of that solution.
