Issue Position

I believe economic development is key to the future of our state. If we expect to retain young people or bring them back to the state, we need to have quality jobs for them. In order to recruit and maintain businesses that would provide those good quality jobs, we need to have tax rates (corporate tax, individual tax, sales tax, inheritance tax, property tax, etc.) which allow Nebraska to be more competitive with the other 49 states. Currently Nebraska ranks #31 based on 15 policy variables (#1 being the optimal score and #50 being the worst).
