Bonamici Statement on SCOTUS Decision Preserving Abortion Rights

Today Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) issued the following statement on the Supreme Court's decision upholding abortion rights in the case of June Medical Services LLC v. Russo.

"I am relieved that today the Court landed on the side of reproductive choice and respect for precedent," said Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici. "This will not be the last threat to reproductive rights, but women in Louisiana and across the country can draw hope and strength from this victory.

"I remember the days before Roe v. Wade, and we can't go back. Our fundamental right to comprehensive reproductive health -- including abortion -- remains under attack by restrictive laws that are about control, not health and safety. I will continue resisting these dangerous efforts and fighting for the Women's Health Protection Act, which reaffirms the right to abortion without burdensome restrictions."
