Congressman Tim Ryan Announces $27,000 to Northeast Ohio Cultural Centers

Congressman Tim Ryan today announced $27,603 in federal funds to Northeast Ohio Cultural Centers, these funds were awarded by Ohio Humanities. These funds are to be used for operating and reopening expenses for organizations that have been affected by the recent closure of cultural institutions across the state. While organizations could receive other emergency funding, these grants were awarded to cover funds for expenses not covered by other federal or state relief programs.

"I applaud Ohio Humanities for distributing these much needed funds to the cultural centers that keep our community in connected to our rich history. These funds will give our cultural centers the support they need to not only make it through this pandemic, but be stronger on the other side. I am proud to have been able to use my position on the House Appropriations Committee to secure this funding and will continue to do everything in my power to help our community combat both the health and economic crises caused by COVID-19," said Congressman Tim Ryan.

National Packard Museum, Warren Ohio - $9,959
Lit Youngstown, Youngstown, Ohio - $3,800
Peninsula Foundation, Peninsula, Ohio - $5,000
The Upton Association, Warren Ohio - $3,613
Mahoning Valley Historical Association, Youngstown, Ohio - $5,231
These funds were made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which became law on March 27, 2020 with Ryan's support.
