Larson Statement on Supreme Court Ruling Striking Down Louisiana Abortion Law

Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) applauded the Supreme Court's decision to uphold Roe V. Wade and overturn Louisiana's burdensome requirements for abortion clinics.
"Today's Supreme Court decision reaffirms that women have a constitutional right to make their own medical decisions. Reproductive rights are human rights and access to abortion should be treated no differently than any other medical service. Congress must continue to fight against unconstitutional attacks to restrict reproductive rights"
Larson is a cosponsor of the Women's Health Protection Act which would make it illegal for state or local governments to restrict reproductive care beyond what is required for equivalent medical services.
