Issue Position

As one of the budget negotiators in the Illinois Senate, Heather Steans knows Illinois isn't broken, but our tax system is. Simply put: we don't collect enough revenue from the wealthy and we tax middle-class and working families too much.

Heather believes we need to reform our tax code by lowering property taxes and amending the state constitution to allow for a graduated income tax.
