Growing up we had a family creed-- "Duty, honor, service to God, Family, and Country." Serving in the military is part of my family's heritage.

I served for 14 years as a pilot and officer in the United States Air Force. My father served as a pilot in WWII. Most of my brothers served in the military as well.

I understand the sacrifices that our veterans and their families make on behalf of our country. I know that our veterans deserve exceptional care and I am committed to fulfilling the promises made to them.

In light of recent scandals within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), I have fought to hold the VA accountable for not taking proper care of our veterans. I have also introduced bi-partisan legislation that would increase the choices veterans have for their healthcare.
