Issue Position

The United States is one of the greatest nations in the world because it provides everyone with the opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

I believe that through a documented process, non-American citizens can have this opportunity, as well. However, many other first-world nations have opened their borders and are dealing with rampant crime and terrorism.

We need to enforce strong borders to mitigate crime, drug trafficking, and protect the safety of the American people. Furthermore, we need to stop illegal immigration to protect the jobs of hardworking Americans.

Illegal immigrants living in the United States should not be allowed to hold citizenship in this country until returning to their home countries and following established U.S. immigration procedures. Along with this, local communities should not be allowed to provide sanctuary to illegal immigrants.

It is of the upmost importance that we protect the safety and security of the American people. And while the U.S. is a melting pot of many different cultures and nationalities, I believe that those wanting to come to the United States need to do so through legal means.
