Peterson Statement on Moving Forward Act

Statement

Date: July 1, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

Representative Collin Peterson released the following statement after the House today approved the Moving Forward Act on a vote of 233-188. Peterson opposed the legislation.

"Our country is in critical need of funding for transportation infrastructure and that is especially true in our rural communities. I voted against H.R. 2 because it fails to pay for the transportation investments we need, and was bogged down by unrelated spending we cannot afford. I am disappointed that partisan politics and an one-sided process have stalled out a desperately needed infrastructure package, but am hopeful that negotiations with the Senate will yield a more balanced approach."
