Issue Position

No matter where you are from, what you look like, how much money you have in your pocket, who you love, or what pronoun you use, you matter and deserve a government that is accountable to you. Our governments have ignored discrimination against LGBTQIA people for too long.

Charles has always been an ally to LGBTQIA+ community in his personal life, as a candidate, and as a legislator. He has co-sponsored legislation to ban conversion therapy in Kentucky, as well as legislation to create statewide fairness. As Senator, Charles would pursue a nationwide fairness law that ensures that LGBTQIA+ folks are recognized as a protected class, and makes housing and workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity illegal.
