Congressmen Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Gerry Connolly (D-VA), co-chairs of the House Georgia Caucus, released the following joint statement after the Parliament of Georgia adopted constitutional amendments earlier today:
"Today we extend our congratulations to the people of Georgia, and applaud the Parliament of Georgia on adopting these constitutional amendments that will allow for a more representative governing body. We value the essential role our U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi played, especially Ambassador Degnan.
"We will continue to urge all parties in Georgia to work together to engage in this reform process to ensure a fair and transparent election this fall."
