Issue Position

Since being elected to represent Ohio's Eleventh Congressional District, I have worked tirelessly to prevent home foreclosures and protect homeowners from predatory lenders. From hosting foreclosure prevention fairs to sponsoring legislation that punishes and prevents mortgage scams, I continually put forth the effort necessary to protect my constituents.

The foreclosure crisis hit our community especially hard and we can still see and feel its effect on our neighborhoods. Unfortunately, in Ohio, 9.1 percent of all home loans are behind but not yet in foreclosure, up from 8.3 percent, and loans in Ohio that are 30 days behind jumped by 20 percent from the first quarter to the second. These figures demonstrate the challenge that lies ahead. Know that I am committed to restoring the American dream of owning a home and I will stand and fight hand-in-hand with my constituents until hope is restored.
