Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick and Congressman John Conyers are teaming up to make sure you stay warm this winter

Detroit - Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (13 th District-MI) and Congressman John Conyers (14 th District-MI) in cooperation with DTE Energy, Home Depot and Lowe's will host a series of energy cost-savings clinics on Saturday, December 3, 2005.

"Experts are predicting record energy bills this year due to soaring home heating oil and gas prices. I want my constituents to have access to any information that may help manage the anticipated expense of heating Michigan homes this winter. I believe learning how to prevent energy loss due to poor weatherization is an important first step toward lowering our energy bills," said Congresswoman Kilpatrick. "I am also pleased that DTE is joining with us to assist with information about programs to help our constituents manage their heating costs," added Congresswoman Kilpatrick.

There will be a series of three clinics where participants will receive on-the-spot instruction on weatherization techniques from representatives of home Depot and Lowe's as well as information on bill assistance and management programs from DTE. The purpose of these clinics is to help consumers hold down their energy costs. The time and location for each clinic is:
